This session will explore this complex and unique phase of medical education as learners consider their future specialty, prepare for this new identity, and adapt to new climates, cultures, and expectations. Drawing on national-level initiatives and insights from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), this session will highlight efforts to improve the transition to residency, including advancements in application processes, new resources for advising, competency-based innovations for residency readiness and early preparation.
